premise that what I am about to write is not a review but just my opinion, or rather what inspired me to read Journey to the West.

Monkey Business is not a comic, and comics!

Reading it will receive all the basic features of the medium, as well as Hugo Pratt, Will Eisner and Scott McCloud we have taught.

Monkey Business is designed literature because it highlights the constituent element of the comic book: the narrative . Gianluca
Maconi tells the story of a character that is not any character but: the monkey aware of the emptiness of celestial birth that comes from the mountain of flowers and fruits, the sovereign people of the Apes (: D)! aka Sun Wu K'ung (in China), aka Son Goku (Japan).
Monkey is the star of the popular Chinese and Japanese mythology and its influence on Asian culture and traditions is of considerable importance, but it arrives in the West thanks to the many transpositions animated it inspired. The Grendizer generation (which is part Maconi) has been fascinated by the animated series like Monkey's Osamu Tezuka, Starzinger of Leji Matsumoto and Akira Toriyama of Dragon Ball to name just the most famous animated reconstructions scimmiotteschi.

because it leaves the reader free to interpret.

But not all.
With the choice of a language of games words, attitudes and behaviors completely post-modern, that is a generation that lives and grows in the third millennium, the author makes his work is pleasantly enjoyed by all but also generating mechanism that combines the old alchemical (Journey to the West is 1570) and post-modern, tradition and innovation, religion and secularization process.
